Amber

A blog or two ago, I mentioned that Amber had disappeared. She vanished the week of Halloween. I really was bummed about it! She had the sweetest personality and she and Lexie were buds! Have you ever seen a cat chase a dog?? Only in my house! On Friday when I got home and the puppers came back in, I went out to empty the skimmer and poof this cat jumped over the fence. It was Amber! I was sooo happy! I grabbed her up and hugged her! (she probably was thinking...geez mom, stop it!) I took her inside and fed her...she scarfed the bowl and only then did I realized I gave her dog food! So, I took what was left and replaces it with cat food. I don't think she cared! I checked her over and couldn't find anything wrong with her other than she had lost some weight. This weekend has been a wonderful weekend with lots of snugging and kneading and purring on both of our parts! i don't know where she was for three weeks plus, but, she is grounded for the time being! She is not allowed outside!

you are from alabama:

You have a party or a barbeque whenever Alabama plays Auburn in football.

You go to Gulf Shores every summer.

You call the Atlanta Braves baseball team "us" like they're actually from Alabama.

You would much rather visit Florida than California.

You don't "take", you "carry" or "tote"... as in "You want me to carry you down to the 7-11?"

A soft drink isn't soda, cola, or pop, it's Coke.

You call it a "buggy" and not a shopping cart.

You've said "fixin' to," "might could," or "usetacould" during the last week.

Someone you know has used a football schedule to plan their wedding date.

You know the meaning of the phrase "Fobbed again."

You can properly pronounce Arab, Eufaula, Opelika, Loachapoka, Bayou La Batre, and Oneonta.

You know exactly what chitlins and mountain oysters are, and you know someone who eats them anyway.

You think that people who complain about the humidity in other states are sissies.

You aren't surprised to find rental movies, groceries, ammunition and bait all in the same store.

You've missed a wedding or a funeral to go to a football game.

Asian food is always "CHINESE" regardless of the fact that it may actually be Korean or Japanese or Thai.

People actually grow, eat, and like okra.

You measure distance in minutes.

You've ever had to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.

You know what "cow tipping" is.

The local papers cover national and international news on
one page but require 6 pages for sports.

You think that the first day of deer season is a national
holiday.

You know all four seasons: Almost summer, summer, still
summer, and Christmas.

You know whether another Alabamian is from east, west, or middle Alabama as soon as they open their mouth.

Visiting Wal-Mart is a favorite pastime.

You can drive without your license because you know if a cop stops you he'll know you and let you go.

You know the difference between redneck, hillbilly, and southerner.

You think everybody from the north has an accent.

Y'all is a word.

There is no such thing as tea.. it's sweet tea.

If a single snowflake falls, the town is paralyzed for three days, and it's on all the channels as a news flash every 15 minutes for a week. All grocery stores will be sold out of milk, bread, bottled water, toilet paper, and beer. If there is a remote chance of snow, and if it does snow, people will be on the corner selling "I survived the blizzard" tee-shirts, not to mention the fact that all schools will close at the slightest possible chance of snow.

Your directions include "when you see the Waffle House" or "turn on the dirt road."

You say "sir" and "ma'am" if there's even a chance someone is even thiry seconds older than you.

The falling of one rain drop causes all drivers to immediately forget all traffic rules; so will daylight savings time, a girl applying eye shadow in the next car, or a flat tire three lanes over.

There is nothing but country on the radio.

A tornado warning siren is your signal to go out in the yard and look for a funnel.

Almost everyone you know is Baptist or Methodist.

A Mercedes Benz isn't a status symbol. A Chevy Silverado Extended Bed Crew Cab is.

You know everything goes better with Ranch dressing.

You learned how to shoot a gun before you learned how to multiply.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are the only doughnuts that exist.

You know at least one Bubba, and maybe a few guys named Bo.

You don't assume the car with the blinker light on is actually going to turn anytime in the near future.

Your idea of a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to pass a tractor.

You think a green light means the pace car has just left the track and It's time to go racing.

You actually get these jokes and invite your Alabam' friends to join.

Gary

Last thursday I went to see Gary Allan in concert with a friend from work. Her husband works for the police department and was able to work this concert as an extra job. There was hopes (really high ones) that I would be able to go backstage and meet him! But, bummers, that didnt happened...BUT, I did get to shake his hand towards the end of the concert!!! What a nice firm shake he had too! Almost didnt let go, but, I dont think i would have been able to keep him. :(
We had fourth road seats which were awesome, until the 6 foot something guy stood up in the row in front of us!!!! It was an awesome concert! Oh, and I get to sleep with him anytime I want...I have an autograph T-shirt!!!!!

OH!

Yikes, once again I have fallen off of the Blogging Wagon! No excuses, I suppose, just hasnt been anything to write about. That could be positive, i suppose. No news is good News????

I have started my new job. I like and I don't...but that goes with every territory. Its a 50 minute drive to be there at 5p and I get off at 7a. I get paid for 10 hours and I most likely don't work 10 hours...but its here and there timing, so I get a little sleep in. I then come home and snug with the puppies for an hour or so, and then back at it. Every other Friday, I work at Baptist...keeping my foot inthe door and it gives me a little play money.

I am on medical suspension from the Reserves due to my dignosis of asthma. Geez, I have had this dx for years and McChord never pushed it! So I am now not able to paly for points or pay while they are reviewing my case! I think I am being punished! Yes, I am fighting it, but it is taking forever!!!!

The puppers are doing just fine! I am so amazed at them! I am not sure how to explain, but they definetly make my day!!! Amber has disappeared and I am afraid this is it for the kitters! This has made me very very sad! I am hoping that any day now she will show back up! I cant believe that I lived on a lake in Carnation and then the house in Woodinville with all of the wild creatures and only lost one (spencer) and here I have been here a year and have lost three! Not sure if I can do this!

Dont forget to vote, tomorrow. I am sure it wont end tomorrow, but it is the beginning of the end of the election mess!

love to all!
