Domesticated One

I canned my first set of figs this past week. I wont win a prize at the local fair, but I am proud of myself! The last thing that I can remember canning with my grandmother were tomatoes (and to this day I hate tomato soap!) And I have put up peas and beans in the freezer, but this is the first that I have done by myself! I got the directions off the Internet and it seemed easy enough...went to wally world and invested in the canning supplies to include some 1/2 pint jars and picked the figs out of grandda's back yard. This recipe called for a 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice into a each pint jar to help keep the color of the figs....can you guess what I did??? Yep, put 1tablespoon into each 1/2 pint jar...anyone had a lemon flavored fig preserves? Not too bad, I plan on sending each and everyone of you guys a jar or two for Christmas! :)

Not too much going on around here...I have one more work week at Baptist then I am off to Louisiana for some military training. 25th of August I start my new job at Bullock County Hospital. Nervous??? you bet I am!

Lexie is in heat and so far it has not been too nerve racking! I am taking her to Mom's for the next two weeks or so just to be on the safe side. I am not looking for the sleepless night that happens when I separate them! I suppose I will get them fix. I wanted a set of puppies, but I don't know anyone who wants one and its not right to bred just to bred.

Off to go bowl a game or two with a co-worker and her family....bumper rails here I come!

A CHANGE DOES US GOOD

I got a little bored Sunday when some storms came through and kept me inside, so I revamped this site. New layout and colors AND I was able to figure out how to put on a playlist (really not that hard!) I am slowly putting on music that I listen to. I love all kinds and genres but I dont always remember the artist and name...so this a work in progress! (as I am!)

And NO I havent gain weight ( I actually lost 10 over the spring) the chem gear is BIG and I wear it over my regular BDU;s, thus I look huge but I am not! And yes I am more blonde today, but that is because my greys wont hold a dark color...it fades to this color. (thanks to AC for pointing both out to me! NOT)

Soldier Girl

Here are those pictures I promised of me playing soldier (thanks gp for fixing my problem!) Now print them off and I am sure the bugs will stay away for a long period of time!
